Sarah Cohen M.S. is a licensed psychology associate who specializes in treating anxiety and related disorders in children, adolescents, and adults. Her treatment area of focus includes anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety, social phobia, separation anxiety, specific phobias, panic disorder, OCD, and selective mutism), parent training, behavior management, and social skills training.

Ms. Cohen also has significant experience providing a variety of psychological services to people of all ages with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She is currently researching the mental health of caregivers of youth diagnosed with ASD. Ms. Cohen utilizes various evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy treatments including: Exposure-based therapies, Prolonged Exposure (PE), Behavioral Activation (BA), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy Adapted for Selective Mutism (PCIT-SM), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

Ms. Cohen received her Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Psychology magna cum laude from New York University and her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University Maryland. She is currently in the Clinical Psychology doctoral program at Loyola University Maryland, where she obtained extensive clinical training and experience working with clients aged 6-60 in a community mental health setting. Ms. Cohen also works with the Child Development Team at Children’s National Hospital, providing evaluations to clients from birth to 4 years of age who are at risk for, or are exhibiting, neurodevelopmental delays or differences (including, but not limited to birth-related complications, motor or language delays, and behavioral problems or differences). Ms. Cohen has additional experience providing clinical support in the Anxiety Disorders Center at the Child Mind Institute in New York City, where she returns bi-annually to serve as a Clinical Team Leader for an intensive therapeutic program for children with selective mutism. Throughout these and her other clinical experiences, she has delivered evidenced-based treatments to many children, adolescents, and adults experiencing mental health challenges.
