Kristin Kunkle, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in treating anxiety and related disorders in children, adolescents, and adults. Her specific clinical expertise includes separation anxiety, specific phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, parent training, and behavior management.
Dr. Kunkle utilizes a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach and has received advanced training in using interventions such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Behavioral Activation, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Parent Management Training (PMT), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Dr. Kunkle provides treatment in a variety of different modalities, including individual, group, and intensive psychotherapy, as well as family coaching approaches and school consultations.
Dr. Kunkle earned her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at Long Island University - Post Campus and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Columbia University Clinic for Anxiety and Related Disorders (CUCARD). She has worked in numerous healthcare settings including private practices, hospitals, outpatient centers, and schools. Dr. Kunkle also enjoys teaching and has served as an instructor at Columbia University Medical Center and the Catholic University of America.
